Swim Equipment

Elsmore Swim Ship on Herndon and Blackstone is a great resource and carries everything below. They will also allow you to try on suits, fins, etc.  Amazon also carries most of the equipment and www.swimoutlet.com is a great online resource as well. The below items are what will be needed. 

Mesh gear bag to hold all of the below equipment.  This allows the water to run out of equipment. 

Ladies please get green size 1 Strokemaker paddles. These can be found online or at Elsmore Swim Shop. Men please get a pair of yellow size 2 Strokemaker paddles. The team has buoys, but feel free to bring your own if you choose. 

Critical for your success, and for not running into the wall. Try on some different options and bring the pair that best works for you. Elsmore, Big 5, Dicks Sporting Goods Wal Mart, they all have them, get what works best for you. 

Will be needed for kick sets throughout the season. There is no right or wrong set of fins. Bring what works best for you.  

Nothing special needed for practice. Get whatever color and fit that you are most comfortable in for daily wear and daily practice. Elsmore has a great selection of practice suits. Do not wear your team suit/ meet suit to practice. Men, no jammer style suits. 

We will discuss this as we get into the season. Regular meets will require the school suit. Championship meets will require a different type of suit. If your swimmer is competing in championship meets we will discuss the best options for racing suits. 

Practice caps can be purchased on line or at Elsmore. Elsmore has a wife selction of cheap latex caps that can be used at practice. They will break during the season, so get more than one. School caps will be issued for meets and silicon racing caps will be used during championship season.
